What is the click or pop I hear during a chiropractic adjustment?

caret-right

The click or popping sound that is often heard during an adjustment is gas releasing from the joint. Quite commonly, areas of the body holding large amounts of body weight can feel stiff like pressure is building up. This is what Chiropractor can easily help with! A good thing to note is that a good adjustment does not need the pop or clicking sound present. What is more important is that adjustment was as precise as possible, in the right direction and in the right area.

How many times do I need to see a Chiropractor

caret-right

Each patient will vary depending on the health goal and complaint. Pain reduction for a new episode can take as little as a few treatment with long standing issues taking more. Most people that discover the benefits of chiropractic will choose to continue to see a chiropractor. They enjoy the way their body moves and feels and want to maintain those gains. Visiting a chiropractor every few months for maintenance is recommended for optimal physical, mental and emotional health. Especially if you do a job that requires a lot of sitting and/or physical labour.

Are chiropractors doctors?

caret-right

Chiropractors are not medical doctors in terms of prescribing drugs as treatment, but they do find fixable problems on the body and help manage it. Chiropractors in Australia are required 5 years of university study. This gives the practitioner enough training to know if a condition needs attention from a medical physician.

Is it good to see a chiropractor with a physio, podiatrist, massage therapist or any other allied health professional?

caret-right

Yes! in fact the scientific literature suggest patients get better outcomes when allied health professionals work together and triage clients. Every health profession offers a different piece to the puzzle. Chiropractors are unique because of their trained knowledge in joint alignment, posture and the nervous system which does not clash with seeing other allied health practitioners.
